MVAA Baseball

MATURITY. HONESTY. DISCIPLINE. LOYALTY. ADAPTATION. COMPASSION. SELF-ESTEEM. TEAMWORK. RESPECT. SACRIFICE. HUMILITY. PATIENCE. DILIGENCE. COURAGE. TRUST.

The game of baseball gives its players the chance to test and refine the qualities that make up a well-rounded life experience.  The MVAA Baseball program hopes to not only teach the game of baseball, but to also move your child toward becoming all that they can be.  To this end we have and will continue to institute changes for the betterment of the program.  Please visit the other links on our website for additional information regarding the baseball program.  The 2009 MVAA Baseball Guidelines document explains recent changes in the program and procedures for the upcoming evaluations/try-outs.

2009 MABA Travel League

MVAA travel teams at the 12U level and up will play in the full-time division of the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association (“MABA”) for the 2009 season.  See http://www.leaguelineup.com/maba.  MABA offers highly competitive play and is the largest travel baseball league in the state of Maryland.

2009 Tournament Play

MVAA travel teams typically compete in 2-3 tournaments per year.  Past tournaments have included the following: Sports at the Beach (Rehoboth, DE), Ripken Tournaments (Aberdeen, MD and Myrtle Beach, SC), Cooperstown Tournaments (Cooperstown, NY), and various local tournaments.

Age Cut-Off

Eligible players must be no older than the maximum age for each level on April 30, 2009.  For example, a child wishing to play at the 12U level must be not turn 13 on or before April 30, 2009.

Sportsmanship and Appropriate Behavior

The MVAA Travel Baseball Program forms travel teams that compete favorably against outstanding competition.  The Program equalizes playing time among its players and requires that players, coaches, and parents conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike and respectful manner at all times.
