MVAA Baseball

MATURITY. HONESTY. DISCIPLINE. LOYALTY. ADAPTATION. COMPASSION. SELF-ESTEEM. TEAMWORK. RESPECT. SACRIFICE. HUMILITY. PATIENCE. DILIGENCE. COURAGE. TRUST.

The game of baseball gives its players the chance to test and refine the qualities that make up a well-rounded life experience.  The MVAA Baseball program hopes to not only teach the game of baseball, but to help your child achieve his/her full potential.  To this end, we have and will continue to institute changes for the betterment of the program.  Please visit the other links on our website for additional information regarding the baseball program.  The 2011 MVAA Baseball Guidelines document explains recent changes in the program and procedures for the upcoming evaluations/try-outs.

2011 MABA Travel League

MVAA travel teams at the 12U level and up will play in the full-time division of the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association (MABA) for the 2011 season.  See http://www.leaguelineup.com/maba.  MABA offers highly competitive play and is the largest travel baseball league in the state of Maryland.

2011 Tournament Play

MVAA travel teams typically compete in 2-3 tournaments per year.  Past tournaments have included the following: Sports at the Beach (Rehoboth, DE), Ripken tournaments (Aberdeen, MD and Myrtle Beach, SC), Cooperstown tournaments (Cooperstown, NY), plus various local tournaments.

Age Cut-Off

The age cut off for all divisions is April 30, 2011 (i.e., must not exceed the maximum age on April 30).

Sportsmanship and Appropriate Behavior

The MVAA Baseball program strives to be respected for our competitiveness and sportsmanship.  Sportsmanship is expected not only from players and coaches, but parents and spectators, as well.
