Tee-ball (Ages 5–7)
This is an
instructional level to teach players the
fundamentals of baseball and is an excellent
opportunity for them to learn basic skills
(catching, throwing, batting and fielding) as
well as teamwork, group discipline, and
sportsmanship.
Tee-ball teams are chosen
strictly by age. The available players are
evenly divided by age yearly to create as many
teams as are necessary. We try to keep the total
number of children to 8 or 10 per team.
Machine Pitch
(Ages 6-9)
Instruction continues at this level;
development of the player’s skill is the primary
goal. Players will learn to hit in a
“machine-pitch” format. Though winning is
de-emphasized, score is kept.
A mandatory
player evaluation will take place, where players
will be evaluated by volunteer coaches from the
various divisions. After these evaluations,
coaches and teams will be selected. The Director
of Baseball has the final decision over all
coaching selections. Please refer to the 2010
MVAA Baseball Guidelines for details.
Minors (Ages 8-11)
In general,
this division is geared towards continued
instruction of the fundamentals of baseball.
This division is “kid pitch”, score and
standings are kept, and a single-elimination
tournament is held at season end to determine a
league champion.
The team plays other teams from the
Tri-County membership.
A mandatory player
evaluation will take place, where players will
be evaluated by volunteer coaches from the
various divisions. After these evaluations,
coaches and teams will be selected. The Director
of Baseball has the final decision over all
coaching selections.
All players must
attend the evaluation. Please refer to the 2010
MVAA Baseball Guidelines for details.
Majors
(Ages 10-12)
There are two levels of play in the Majors
division; In-house (ages 10-12) and Travel (ages
11-12). In general, the in-house level of each
division is geared towards instruction, while
Travel level teams are intended for more skilled
players who are ready for a higher degree of
competition. In either case, these divisions are
“kid pitch”, score and standings are kept, and a
single-elimination tournament is held at season
end to determine a league champion.
A
mandatory player evaluation will take place,
where players will be evaluated by volunteer
coaches from the various divisions. After these
evaluations, coaches and teams will be selected.
The Director of Baseball has the final decision
over all coaching selections.
Your child
is guaranteed a spot on a team. Participation on
a Travel level team is by invitation only, and
requires a higher level of commitment from both
players and parents. Consequently, parents may
elect for their child not to play at the Travel
level; if you do not want your child to be
assigned to a Major level travel team, please
indicate this on your registration form.
Regardless of the level you wish your child to
play, all players must attend the evaluation.

Guidelines for details
