Super Series Baseball and Mattingly Baseball have
awarded our own Nicholas Rabat the Beast of the
Month for June based upon his tremendous batting
accomplishments for the month of May. Super Series
and Mattingly Baseball are sending Nick a new
Mattingly Beast baseball bat (a $350 bat) and will
post his photograph on their websites. This is a
tremendous achievement for Nick, and we are very
proud of him. To highlight the significance of this
award, Nick was selected by Super Series as one of
the top four hitters in the nation among all Super
Series Baseball age groups for his achievements at
the plate during May. Please congratulate Nick when
you see him.

MVAA
Baseball congratulates its 10U Select baseball team for
taking second place in the 2007 Annapolis Open, Grant
Turner Memorial Tournament to kick off the 2007 season!
The Knights split their two games Saturday in their
first day of tournament play with a 12-7 win over
Gambrills and a 16-6 loss to the HCYP Raiders. The
Knights then defeated Chesapeake 10-9 on Sunday to
advance to the bracket finals against the HCYP Raiders.
The upstart Knights avenged the prior day's loss by
defeating a tough HCYP Raiders squad to win 2-1 and
clinch the bracket championship. The Knights win was
made possible by solid defensive play and the strong
pitching performance of Austin Marrone. In their third
game of the day, the Knights lost the tournament
championship game to a very strong Mt. Airy team.
Manager Brian Moore commented, "We are so proud of all
of our kids. Every player on the team contributed to
our success in the tournament defensively and at the
plate."
Members of the 10U
Knights are Lucas Kobat, Keith Heckler, Jamie Wright,
Matthew Reiser, Trevor McClure, Austin Marrone, Bailey
Savage, Alex Cartner, Patrick Moore, Jonas Carbaugh,
Alex Heckler, Will McClain, and Matthew Considine. The
10U Knights are coached by Manager Brian Moore and
Assistant Coaches Keith Heckler, Darrell McClure, and
Buzz McClain.
