CHEER TIME!
Congrats to our
2007-08 Basketball Cheerleaders. This squad dazzled
crowds all over the county. They entertained the
fans with their high level routines, bubbly spirit
and peppy enthusiasm. This squad took MVAA
Cheerleading to a higher level than ever before.
With the guidance of their coaches Emily Delauter,
Autumn Hollis, Amanda Miller and Missy Payne, they
“WOWED” us! We
will be losing most of these girls to the High
School next season. We want to thank them for their
years of hard work and dedication. Good Luck next
year! To our returning veterans we are excited to
see you in May.
Success also came
to our first Cheer Competition Squad. We hope to be
expanding this program. Our Competition squad has
competed in 3 competitions and has won 1st
place at all 3 contests. The squad will be
performing @University of Md., on April 19th. We
will be taking names at sign-ups for anyone
interested in competing. Our competition squad will
be performing at the first try-out practice on May
12 @ MMS gym. Time is 6:00 and the performance will
be about 5 minutes. We invite everyone to come and
watch.

COMPETITION
CHEERLEADING (Winter '08)
The MVAA
Cheerleading program would like to congratulate
their competition squad on a job well done. The
Competition Squad consists of eleven 8th graders:
Kaitlyn Brant, Kenzi Brigham, Ahely Bruchey, Kelsi
Clark, Jessica Delauter, Carly Fisher, Ashley Hanes,
Kristen Kobylarz, Chelsea McDermott, Desiree
Remsburg, and Rachel Searles and two 6th
graders: Arianna Olge and Sarah Mueller. These
girls are coached by Missy Payne, Amanda Miller,
Autumn Hollis, and Emily Delauter.

These
girls have put in so much effort into taking
Middletown Cheerleading to the next level. Director
Kelly Delauter waited for a strong group before
starting this squad stating, “We want to do it right
from the beginning.” This squad continues to
participate in other sports and winter cheerleading
sometimes having practice five times a week.
All of the
hard work has paid off because these girls have gone
to two competitions and brought home the first place
trophy each time. At the last competition the MVAA
cheerleaders out scored all other squads bringing
home the honor of Grand Champion!
These
girls have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to show off
their talent and convince the judges they are the
best. Dancing to Disco Inferno, tumbling, and
stunting on a college level, shows these girls are
athletes and came to win! This squad stands out not
only because of their talent but because of their
appearance and presence. They come with straight,
mostly blonde ponytails, little makeup, white and
orange uniforms, and the understanding that this
comes second to MVAA seasonal cheerleading.
With the
teachings from their coaches, encouragement of the
director, and support of parents and fans the MVAA
has been able to break into competitive cheerleading
successfully.
We invite
you to come out and cheer on the MVAA Competition
squad. See what efforts are needed to be
successful!
