**MVAA Youth Sports Scholarship Announcements:

On June 30th the MVAA recognized Mr. Bryan Goodyear and Miss Emily Boyce as the recipients of the  MVAA Youth Sports Scholarship. Through their dedicated service within the MVAA, both Bryan and Emily exemplify the ethos of the MVAA; one of Servitude Leadership.

The MVAA Scholarship Committee reviewed several highly qualified student/athlete applications with a wide range of talents and athletic abilities. However, the committee was also presented with the arduous task of picking the two best qualified applicants to receive the 2011 MVAA Youth Sports Scholarship. These applicants were judged on academic performance, athletic accomplishments, extracurricular activities within the community, as well as leadership involvement within the MVAA. Additionally, each applicant submitted an essay describing how their experience in the MVAA has influenced their life and how it has enabled them to give back to their community.

I personally want to thank all the applicants for your dedicated service and leadership within the MVAA. While everyone who applied for our scholarship has already achieved remarkable milestones in academics, athletics, and service to our community, two individuals stood out among their peers by repeatedly demonstrating remarkable achievements, which illustrated the concept of servitude leadership. The two $1,000 dollar scholarships were a small token expressed by the MVAA's and the Middletown community for the countless hours they sacrificed to make the MVAA what it is today.

MHS Seniors are eligible to receive a $1,000.00 scholarship if you have participated in the MVAA for at least 5 years. An essay on your contribution to the MVAA is required. Two possible candidates may be chosen. Information and the scholarship application for the 2012 MVAA Scholarship will be posted on our website link - "Scholarships" and at the MHS guidance office in January of 2012.
