Our MVAA field hockey program includes an in-house instructional program for K-4th grade and competitive team play for 5th-8th grade. Our competition teams currently participate in Frederick County Parks and Rec Youth Field Hockey League that holds games on Saturday mornings. Our season typically runs from late August to the first week of November.
WE NEED COACHES! Our success depends on volunteer coaches. We are in need of 1-3 coaches at each age level for the Fall ’25 season. Contact Jen Zeltwanger for more information.

Grades K-4 ($60)
The K-4th grade program is an in-house clinic style program. Athletes learn skills and fundamentals of the game in a relaxed and fun way with drills, activities, and scrimmages. This program does not involve competition with other teams. Practices will be held two evenings a week.
Grades 5-6 ($90)
The 5th-6th grade program is a competition level team that will be part of the Frederick County Youth Field Hockey League. We are also considering other competition opportunities such as tournaments and individual games against other area teams. Practices will be held two to three evenings a week based on coach and field availability. Games are typically on Saturdays.
Grades 7-8 ($90)
The 7th-8th grade program is a competition level team that will be part of the Frederick County Youth Field Hockey League. We are also considering other competition opportunities such as tournaments and individual games against other area teams. Practices will be held two to three evenings a week based on coach and field availability. Games are typically on Saturdays.
Spring Field Hockey ClinicRegister
The MVAA Field Hockey program is offering a Try-It Day for new and experienced players in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Bring a friend and come learn an Olympic sport while working with MHS high school players! This clinic is designed to introduce the basics of field hockey with fun skill activities and games.
No experience necessary! All you need is a full water bottle and a snack. Sticks will be provided but if you have one, bring it along! Shin guards are not necessary for the clinic but if you have them, feel free to wear them.

May 17th 9am-1pm with a snack break on the MHS Stadium field. Cost is $10.
